ALCI’s President, Keith Crawford, is the owner and creative driving force behind Hortus Tuus, a landscaping company based in Belfast, providing landscape design and construction to mainly domestic clients. His company has won a number of ALCI Landscape Awards for Design and Construction. Keith served as Chairman of ALCI Northern Region between 2005 and 2008 and is currently on a number of its standing committees.
Born and educated in Dungannon, he then studied Horticulture at Writtle College before returning to Northern Ireland where he started his career at Belfast City Council and then Castlereagh Borough Council. Keith set up his own landscaping business in 2001 and they specialise in the development and creation of private gardens, Hortus Tuus continues to increase its market share within this sector.
In addition Keith is a regular contributor on BBC Radio Ulsters Gardeners Corner, which has a weekly audience of over 120,000 people. He is also a judge for Ulster in Bloom and regularly gives gardening talks throughout Northern Ireland.
Qualified in Landscape Horticulture and Design from UCD in 1986.
Started Radharc Landscaping with Charlie Hosty in 1988. Operation includes a wholesale nursery, landscape design and consultancy and contracting business and, most recently, a garden depot.
Married to Pauline with three children, Hannah, Jack and Ella.
Interests include rugby, cycling and karate and playing piano and guitar. Love a skiing holiday when I can!!
Ross Carew joined ALCI as Executive Secretary in 2010 having spent most of his career in the advertising & marketing industries and more recently as a marketing consultant.
Born in Dublin and educated at Blackrock College and UCD, Ross runs the ALCI office and is the external representative of the Association. A keen gardener in his spare time, Ross is also interested in rugby, golf and wine.
